Destination Wednesdays - #6 Leaville CO Ski Joring

This week’s *Destination Wednesdays* is one in preparation for winter.

6/ Leadville, CO is one of the most unique towns in the US in our opinion.

Leadville is the highest incorporated city in North America, sitting at 10,152 ft above sea level.

We want to help you plan for some winter trips so we wanted to highlight Leadville’s Ski Joring. Every winter the locals fill Main Street full of snow and build jumps, then host a ski competition. Skiers are pulled behind a horse down Main Street where they hit the jumps and collect rings as they speed through the course. The skier who collects the most rings and is the fastest wins the event!

If you want to check out Leadville, it’s right next to Ski Cooper + Copper Mountain for easy access to/from ski resorts. Make a pit stop in town to check out the rich culture and beautiful scenery!
